DARTS: Haines beat the world champion once again

JOHNNY Haines beat world champion Gary Anderson for the second time in less than a month this afternoon, but couldn’t convert his victory into serious PDC prize money.

The Swindon player beats Scot Anderson on April 11, then repeated the trick today as he took a 6-3 win over the third seed at today’s opening Players Championship event of the weekend in Coventry.

Haines lost his second round match to Dutchman Mike Zuydwijk 6-4, while Dennis Smith went out 6-1 to Andy Parsons in round one.

The pair compete again tomorrow.
