GOLF: Fine final round leaves Howell 25th in Italy

DAVID Howell shot a final-round 66 to finish in a share of 25th place at the Italian Open on Sunday.

Howell posted seven birdies and just a solitary bogey to complete a six-under-par effort around the Golf Club Milano course, leaving him 13-under-par for the tournament.

Rikard Karlberg claimed the top prize following a play-off with Martin Kaymer, in which the Swede took two holes to see off the challenge of the German.
