NON-LEAGUE FOOTBALL: Highworth too good for Brackley Town Saints

HIGHWORTH Town proved too strong for Brackley Town Saints on Wednesday night, coming from a goal behind on the opposition’s turf to win the Hellenic Premier Division clash 5-2.

An early Brackley goal put Worthians on the back foot from the off, encouraging them to come forward in order to level the playing field.

Come forward Highworth did, after a Cal Parson’s free-kick nestled in Brackley’s goal with less than 15 minutes played.

Soon after, striker TJ Bohane capitalised upon an opportunity to put the visitors 2-1 ahead, giving the Worthians the advantage going into the half-time break.

Emerging for the second period, Bohane exhibiting his goal scoring prowess once more, scoring twice in quick succession to both complete his hat-trick and put his side 4-1 in the lead.

Having established an open stretch of clear water between themselves and their opponents, Highworth were allowed to relax into the game a little.

Perhaps taking their foot off the gas a little too much, the Worthians allowed Brackley to pull another goal back, reducing their margin to only two goals.

Cal Parsons was on hand however to bag his second goal of the game, giving John Fisher’s side a 5-2 lead which they would see safely through to the final whistle.
